You only pay Shopify directly when you decide to go live and unlock paid features, and you choose which plan to pay for.
The Shopify Partner program allows partners to create Development Stores for clients — these stores do not have the 3-day trial limit and are intended for development and testing. After we transfer ownership to you, you can freely explore, design and test until you are ready to bind a credit card and go live.
You do, 100%. After ownership transfer, the account, password, all product and order data belong to you — we have no backend access. You can bind your domain, credit card and go live at any time on your own.
No. We create the store and transfer it to your email. You just click the link in the email and set a password to take over. You never need to give us any password or credit card.
No contract at all. If you decide not to use it, simply do not bind a credit card — the store stays in test mode and no charges occur. You can also delete the store yourself if you no longer need it.
